How To Get There...
Ankober is located at 172 Kms North East of Addis Ababa on the historic route of northern Ethiopia. Ankober can be reached in about two and half to three hours drive from Addis Ababa.
To get there you first drive 130Kms to Debre Berhan. Then turn right at the end of the two and follow the sign ANKOBER and drive zigzagging along several hills scattered all over the cultivated plateau. The road leads to the lofty massive mountain known as Kundi, 3500 meter above sea level. Pass the chilly height covered with eucalyptus forest, you continue driving down Ankober Palace Lodge which stands comfortable altitude of 2870 meters. Once you are there, you shall have a healthy challenge walking up a set of steps.
